As a costume designer for a contemporary show like this I like to bring a set of designs that I use as my base. I have certain elements for each designs that create my colour palette and are essential for each costume look. From this I allow it to develop whilst working in collaboration with the artistic director, wardrobe team and of course the actors. The small details are very important whilst also keeping in mind the bigger picture and the cast and set as a whole.

Working on this show was a wonderful experience, and I was very grateful for the opportunity to work with Western Canada theatre whilst co-producing with Theatre North West. Sticking to your designs in a contemporary show like this can be a challenge, trying to find that one piece that is essential to create the costume and make it unique! I really enjoyed experimenting with bright colours and two very exciting characters for this show, they made the costumes come to life with such flair!
